What is an Emergency? You should seek emergency care for your pet if your feel their medical condition is serious, is making you worry, and cannot wait.  If you feel that your pet needs emergency treatment, do not hesitate to call or come in immediately.  If possible, it is best to call prior to coming in so that we can advise you on your particular situation.  You should seek emergency care for your pet if they are exhibiting the following signs:

  • Excessive vomiting or diarrhea
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Pale or white gums
  • Unable to urinate or defecate
  • Acute abdominal swelling
  • Excessive bleeding
  • Exhibits symptoms of a heat stroke
  • Prolonged or repetitive seizures
  • Any known trauma
  • Ingestion or exposure to a potentially toxic substance (including toad exposure or snake bites)
